Joris Tsai van Helmond is a mixed-media artist based in Brooklyn. They received their BFA from Univeristy of Vermont and are a current MFA candidate at Pratt Institute with a focus in printmaking and community education.
I believe that there is strength in times of fragility and vulnerability. I find my solidity by recontextualizing these charged moments from my past to create immersive spaces that can only be felt unanimously. Serendipity and trauma connect through coincidence, it is our job to embrace the unexpected.
